Full-Time Positions

Middle/High School Mentor (2024-25)

Calvary Christian Academy Middle/High School Mentors embody a love for the Lord, a love for students, and a love for learning. At Calvary Christian Academy, mentors are nurturing and capable individuals with a background in education, counseling, child development, or ministry. Mentors have endless opportunities to help shape students’ minds, hearts, and souls by nurturing academic excellence rooted in biblical truth. CCA mentors are expected to participate in extensive Professional Development opportunities to develop strategies for spiritual formation and social-emotional growth, as well as leading small group academic instruction. Our mentors will be members of a dedicated and supportive teaching team that functions cooperatively to serve students.

Responsibilities:
know all students, including their gifts and their challenges, and advocate for them
● lead biblical curriculum (currently Summit Curriculum) during Gathering time and partner with the Educator to facilitate biblical integration in the classroom
● identify goals (social, emotional, and spiritual) for success and monitor progress towards established goals for individual students
● communicate with parents weekly
● attend all faculty meetings and Professional Development days that pertain to continuing education as identified by the administration

Experience and Training:
● bachelor’s degree
● counseling, seminary, or ministry experience preferred

7-12 Certified Social Studies Educator (2024-25)

Maker/STEM Facilitator (2024-25)

Calvary Christian Academy seeks a qualified, full-time teacher with a passion for Maker Education and STEM disciplines to design a vertical program and deliver engaging high interest instruction in a K-12 context within our new CCA Makerspace. This position reports to the Head of School and has a vital role in providing students with the time, space, and tools to tinker, collaborate, build, and test to further develop passions and strengthen skills within problem solving, STEM skills, and other content areas.

Shared Responsibilities:

  • ability to plan intentional biblical instruction utilizing the Bible, curriculum resources, and collegial input
  • ability to pace oneself in order to meet deadlines with quality

  • ability to create and maintain open and direct communication with co-workers, parent community, and students
  • given our unique co-teaching model, ability to maintain professional and cohesive team relationships for the benefit of students and the overall climate of CCA

Maker/STEM Facilitator Specific Responsibilities:

  • commit to active research on progressive trends within Maker Education and STEM
  • develop of a long-term Maker Education Strategic Plan and vertical CCA Design Thinking Philosophy
  • develop of Maker Units for TK-5 that build upon one another and offer exposure to various problem-solving skills, materials, resources and new technologies
  • develop of Maker Elective Experiences within Middle and High School
  • facilitate instruction for Elementary Maker Units and some Middle School Maker-based Electives
  • create and maintain an effective and engaging environment for student exploration
  • create and maintain a safe environment where failure is embraced as necessary to success
  • maintain a well-established Makerspace and ensure all materials are available for quality tinkering, prototype building, and testing
  • partner with classroom teachers to identify and foster additional Maker opportunities in the classroom
  • collaborate with colleagues and administrators as an active, positive contributor and member of a Professional Learning Community
  • fulfill all job duties and responsibilities as assigned by administration

Knowledge and Skills:

    Part-Time Positions

    Substitute Teachers

    Substitute teachers will work as needed throughout the school year. Must be able to model a strong relationship with Jesus Christ in all student, staff, and family interactions.

    Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; classroom teaching experience is preferred but not required.

    Spanish Language I and II Educator (2024-25)
